Why is the ship on our crest upside down? The club explains
It's not capsized. It's 'strategically inverted', like our revenue figures.

Supporters have long asked why the golden ship on the Sham FC crest is sailing upside down. Today, the club can finally reveal the truth.
"The ship was originally the right way up," explains club historian Bartholomew Offshore (fictional). "Then in 2009 our accountants turned it over to see what was underneath. They found an enormous amount of money that nobody could explain, and decided it was best to just leave it like that."
The red rose on the lower half of the shield is made of folded banknotes, representing the club's deep roots in the community and its even deeper pockets.
The '20' and '09' on either side of the crest mark the season in which our commercial revenue first began to grow faster than physics allows.
